What is division A as mentioned on https://gp.worldpuzzle.org/content/preliminary-results-wpf-gp-puzzle-1a ?

In the early years, the Puzzle GP was split into a 'competitive' section and a 'casual' section (in 2016), or A/B/C sections that were ranging from more competitive to more informal (in 2017), and somehow the A portion is the only one that still exists but the A never disappeared from the terminology.

Subsidiary question: will the results of Sudoku GP round 1 ever reappear ?

The results never disappeared, they just moved to the archive under Sudoku/2022
